Laura KnoxPsychologist

I am a registered psychologist with an interest in providing high quality therapeutic care in a safe and supportive environment.

I work collaboratively with people to help address life stressors, improve psychological health and develop a more fulfilling life. My practice draws on a range of therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy and client-centred practice. I strongly believe in being guided by the needs of the people I work with, rather than trying to fit a client into a therapeutic mode. Visiting a psychologist can be daunting, especially for the first time, and so I respect the courage and resolve it takes to make this step.

My past clients have valued my warm, relaxed and accepting manner.

I have experience working with a range of issues including depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, stress, major life transitions, and suicidal thoughts. I am currently completing my PhD exploring difficulties in adult relationships.

In using an individually tailored approach, I have helped many people to develop a greater sense of self-compassion and a deeper understanding of themselves.
