PERSONAL DETAILS AND INTERESTS
I am a registered psychologist and have experience working with adolescents and adults to understand and manage a wide range of mental health concerns.
To me, counselling psychology is about providing a supportive space for the client to explore the issues they are facing, draw the connections between their past and present experiences, safely confronting difficult topics, and understanding how this impacts their life today.
When working with people I prefer to use a genuine, empathic, and non-judgemental therapy style. I use a Person-Centred therapeutic approach and often draw on Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural interventions. I believe the client is an individual, therefore I will collaborate with you throughout treatment in making changes relevant to your own long-term wellbeing.
EXPERIENCE (AREAS OF EXPERTISE)
I have worked with a range of people and presentations including adults, domestic and international students, adolescents, LGBTIQA+ persons, older adults, and people from culturally diverse backgrounds.
My areas of interest include stress, depression, other mood disorders, generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic disorder, trauma, grief and loss, sleep problems, body image, relationship difficulties, and managing health concerns.
