PERSONAL DETAILS AND INTERESTS
(03) 9820 5577
Throughout my life, I have been curious about human behaviour and the meanings we make in our lives. From a tender age, I was passionate about entering the field of psychology. My keen interest in human nature has always led me towards industries where I am able to interact with people on a daily basis and allowed me to gain a greater understanding of people from many walks of life. I aim to bring the learnings from both my professional and practical training to assist each client from where they are on their wellbeing journey.
As a counselling psychologist, I believe firmly in finding the balance between the science and art of psychological intervention and am dedicated to finding that with each client I work alongside. In order to find that balance, I use a collaborative and client-focused foundation to inform the skills, tools and techniques utilised in therapy. I have an interest in working with people from all walks of life, who are experiencing distress in the form of worry, low mood, low self-esteem and interpersonal or relationship concerns.
My therapeutic style is warm and empathetic, with a focus on the co-creation of a resilient, supportive and safe therapeutic relationship between me and my clients. I believe the quality and reliability of the relationship between therapist and client is the most important element in facilitating change and inspiring new perspectives.
EXPERIENCE (AREAS OF EXPERTISE)
I have experience assisting with anxiety, depression, interpersonal concerns, life stage/development challenges, relationship concerns, impulse control conditions, grief/loss and trauma. The clients I have worked alongside vary in age, gender identification and cultural background. I find my approach lends itself well to youth and young adults, but have experience working with adults of all ages.
