Leisa ThompsonCounselling Psychologist

I am a warm and caring therapist who has worked with individuals and couples for over 20 years. I work collaboratively with people to identify the issues causing them distress and then I create an individually tailored therapeutic intervention to help people move towards the life they want.

My practice draws on the best of a range of therapeutic approaches including client -centred practice, emotion -focused therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural therapy.

I believe that all people can change and grow.

I am experienced in working with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, stress related disorders, bereavement and loss, trauma, relationship counseling, life change management, chronic and terminal illness counseling, occupational stress and sleep management and sleeping disorders, life transitions (eg: retirement) and issues pertaining to aging.

I have a particular interest in working with women at all stages of the lifespan.
