PERSONAL DETAILS AND INTERESTS
I am a registered psychologist who values working collaboratively with clients to establish a warm and safe space for them to share their experience. My approach is client-focused and grounded in the belief that everyone has the capacity to make changes and grow. My practice is guided by the core principles of trauma-informed care, such as transparency, collaboration, empowerment, and safety; as well as continuing conscientiousness and empathy.
I practice a holistic approach which uses a combination of therapeutic interventions tailored to the client’s needs. These modalities include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Schema Therapy, Mindfulness and Problem-Solving Therapy. I individualise treatment plans and am guided by a trauma-informed approach to understand my client’s experiences, some of which may have occurred in early life, which may be contributing to their current adversities. Through this, I aim to guide my client in understanding the roots of their difficulties and provide meaning to situations which can often feel overwhelming.
I am interested in working with adults of all ages and various cultural backgrounds. I appreciate that each client is unique and pride myself in ensuring each treatment plan is developed collaboratively and aimed at working towards positive outcomes.
EXPERIENCE (AREAS OF EXPERTISE)
I have experience working with adults with a range of presentations including anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, ongoing life stressors, addiction and substance use difficulties, low self-esteem, emotional regulation difficulties and complex trauma.
I have facilitated many group programs within a forensic setting which has included programs focused on drug and alcohol abuse, mindfulness and emotional regulation.
