PERSONAL DETAILS AND INTERESTS
After working in films for almost a decade, I finally returned to my first calling and pursued my passion for learning about the human connection and its role in improving the quality of life. My background in the creative field, and being a lover of books and story-telling, highlighted the significance of the stories we tell ourselves and others. Having lived in a few different continents has enabled me to relate and empathise with various challenges of life transitions and transform these to build resilience and open-mindedness. With this in mind, I practice using curiosity and compassion when connecting with people, both inside, and out of, the therapy room.
My interests are in creating a safe space for my clients and working collaboratively in uncovering and discovering patterns in behaviours and ways of thinking, in the process of striving towards a meaningful life. I have a preference for the relational approach and mindfulness-based practices, integrated with methodologies found in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Therapy, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Systemic Family and Attachment Style Theory.
EXPERIENCE (AREAS OF EXPERTISE)
I work with both public and private health sectors on a range of issues including difficulties in relationships, addiction (behavioural and substances), grief and loss, depression, anxiety, life transitions, abuse and neglect, PTSD, and complex trauma.
I am currently undergoing a Specialist Course in Couple Therapy and aim to work with couples as a unit in the near future.
