My experiences in the Psychological science have spanned a period of 13 years. My acquired knowledge stems from practices within the community, organisational, educational and hospital sectors. This myriad of experiences has undoubtedly shaped my approach in how I listen and understand my client’s narrative.

The view I hold of the human psyche is informed by our personal journey. We take different paths each leading us deeper in our search for our authentic self – A symbolic life. We stumble, hurt and expose ourselves to pain. When we allow these experiences to dictate us rather than inform us. The further distanced we are from our sense of self; we detach from the sense of oneness leading to an inauthentic self through the masks we feel we need to put on. Hence, becoming conscious of our unconscious feelings from our past experiences and how it affects our current behaviours is how I work with my clients. By exploring unresolved conflicts, our inner discord and inter/intrapersonal relationships, can the actual journey towards self-healing begin; leading one back to the path of authenticity.

“Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves” – C.G. Jung.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are… But until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate”  – C.G. Jung.

“Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed” – Friedrick Nietzsche.

“The authentic self emerges when the intellectual and emotional senses are engaged in a unified and harmonious marriage and not in a conflictual divorce that shrouds the self” – Oliver Santiago

My therapeutic style draws heavily from the principles of psychodynamic psychotherapy, which I have specialised training in. The interaction we engage in primarily involves focusing on the affect and expression of one’s emotions through an analytical space and the non-judgemental free associative exploration of experiences and relationships. The aim, of which, is the attempt at examining the unconscious and fostering meaning, purpose and a reconnection to the sense of self.

Areas of interest: Anxiety, Depression, Trauma, Couples’ Therapy, Demoralisation, Attitudes and Behaviours, Personality disorders, Comprehensive Psychological Assessments (projective and objective).
