My experience as a Counsellor and Psychologist has spanned a period of 12 years, many of which have been within the community, organisational, educational and hospital sectors. This myriad of experiences has undoubtedly shaped my approach in how I listen and understand people’s difficulties.

The view I hold of the human psyche is informed by our personal journey. We each take different paths and each lead us deeper in our search for our authentic self. We stumble, hurt and expose ourselves to pain when we allow these experiences to influence us rather than inform us. The further we lose our individuality, the further we distance ourselves from the sense of oneness leading to an inauthentic self through the masks we each put on. Hence, becoming conscious and appreciating our past experiences and how it impacts our current behaviours is how I work with my clients. By exploring unresolved conflicts and symptoms from past inter/intrapersonal relationships, can the actual journey towards self-healing begin; leading one back to the path of individuation.

“A man who has not passed through the inferno of his passions has never overcome them. As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being. Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves” – Jung.

“The privilege of a lifetime is to become who you truly are… But until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life, and you will call it fate” – Jung.

“Sometimes people don’t want to hear the truth because they don’t want their illusions destroyed” – Friedrick Nietzsche.

My therapeutic approach draws heavily from the features of psychodynamic psychotherapy, which primarily involves focusing on the affect and expression of one’s emotions through an open and non-judgemental exploration of experiences and relationships, the aim of which is in achieving a sense of authenticity, meaning and purpose and a stronger sense of self.

Areas of Interest: Anxiety, depression, couples’ therapy, demoralisation, attitudes and behaviours, personality disorder, comprehensive psychological assessments (projective and objective).
